Audio Recordings (CDs, Vinyl, etc.)
Audio recording began, as most things have, with Thomas Edison. Though Edison quickly moved on to invent the lightbulb, others picked up where he left off and, since Edison’s first 1877 breakthrough, audio recording has etched its way across wax gramophones to vinyl records to magnetic tape decks to compact discs and now digital audio. Recorded sound has proved thus far to be infinitely flexible and very collectible, given it’s rather brisk pace of evolution, varying sound quality, play methods, and formats that harken back to many a bygone era.
