This special quarter eagle (gold $2.5 piece) was struck to commemorate the 150th anniversary of American Independence. The obverse features a standing female figure symbolizing Liberty. In one hand she holds the declaration of independence, and in the other the Torch of Freedom. The reverse depicts Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
