The 1966 TV Series Batmobile (commonly referred to as the  '66 Batmobile) is a Hot Wheels casting based on the Batmobile featured on the original Batman TV series. The tool debuted in the 2007 New Models. The car was first released in 2007 as a prototype. The prototype debuted in the 2007 New Models with a ZAMAC body.
The Batmobile itself was created in the astonishingly short time of three weeks by custom car guru George Barris, who had previously purchased the one-off 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept Car. With new 1960s-style wheel arches, a few bat-like styling cues and a coat of black paint, the space-age Futura began a new life as the Dark Knight's ride.
The 1966 TV Series Batmobile release was an instant sensation with collectors — but harder to find than the elusive Bat Cave. RLC got the message like a Bat Signal on a dark night, and — POW! BAM! WHOMP! — here's a special Red Line Club edition of the Dynamic Duo's heroic ride!
This edition appears as it would have if they'd manufactured it back in 1968 with the original batch of Hot Wheels cars. It features a Spectraflame true black finish (first time on this casting), Neo-Classics Redline wheels (another first), and a full-metal chassis — all for the first time on this casting! This is just the vehicle you need when you're running down all the criminals in Gotham City, and you still want to do it in high style!
