Just for reference, PRIOR TO 1955, Imperial was part of Chrysler. In 1955, they split it off as a separate make (like De Soto, Dodge, & Plymouth), until 1975 when it went back to being a "Chrysler Imperial", EXCEPT 1981, 1982, & 1983 when Chrysler tried again to split Imperial off. Calling an Imperial a 'Chrysler' Imperial will upset a purist. They'll tell you it's like saying 'FORD' Lincoln.
