Ford Fairlane (U. S.)

The Ford Fairlane is an automobile model that was sold between 1955 and 1970 by Ford in North America. The name was taken from Henry Ford's estate, Fair Lane, near Dearborn, Michigan.

Over time, the name referred to a number of different cars in different classes; the Fairlane was initially a full-sized car, but became a mid-sized car from the 1962 model year. The mid-sized model spawned the Australian-built Fairlane in 1967, although it was considered a large car there.

It was available in different body styles, 2 door, 4 door, convertible, & station wagon. It also was offered with a variety of engine & transmission combinations. It was available with an in-line 6 cylinder or a V-8 engine & an automatic or manual transmissions in 3 or 4 speeds, column mounted or on the floor. It was eventually replaced by the FORD Torino. It also formed the basis for the later generations of the FORD Ranchero (initially based on the FORD Falcon).

Model pictured is a 1967 2 door hardtop with the 427 cubic inch engine.
