Mazda 618 Coupe And Sedan

The Mazda 618 was a one year only creation specifically for the US (and possibly Canada) and carried a bigger 1800cc engine.  For 1973, only the rotary engined RX-2 was sold in the United States. Coming off the muscle car era, it's obvious that Mazda was trying to market horsepower. Which makes it all the more odd that they didn't provide power ratings in this brochure. It was likely about 75hp, less than half that of a 200hp Camaro 350 but the car was 1000 pounds lighter.  The RX-2 was 130hp, but $500 (2015 $2800) more.

The 618 was sold in the US in coupe and four door sedan form and some consider it the best looking of the early Seventies Mazdas.
