Porsche 550 Spyder

This model is inaccurate.  There should be red stripes on the rear fins.

James Dean had run five events in his traded in his 356 Porsche Super Speedster, winning his first ever race and finishing 2nd and 3rd in the next two.  He ran a disappointing 9th in the next race and didn't finish the one after that in May of 1955.

He registered for two more races but didn't appear, and on an impulse he traded the Speedster for this brand new 550.  On October 1st he was on his way to its first competition when it unexpectedly transformed into a ball of aluminum foil. 

Just seven days before, Dean had met Obi-Wan Kenobi at a restaurant and was told "If you get in that car, you will be found dead in it by this time next week." Police did did pursue the matter because they were unaware of the Force. The car remained cursed and parts from it caused at least one death and many injuries. The remnants disappeared in 1960 while in police custody and have not been seen since.
