Rotary Gas Mileage

And so begins Mazda's fall from grace.  The 1973 Energy Crisis prompted this brochure devoted entirely to various independent tests of gas mileage in Mazda rotary cars.  More than fifteen sources are quoted and accounts of their testing are described and its followed up with two pages of driving and maintenance tips.  The bottom line is that you can expect 17.3 to 22.3 mpg returns from the range of Mazda rotary cars.  According to the blurb from JD Powers "about 25 percent of all new cars sold in the US get 17 mpg or more".  They also mentioned that nine out of ten Mazda owners would recommend the car to a friend.
