Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is a remake of the 1985 Super Mario Bros. and 1986 Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels games. It was released on the Game Boy Color in 1999, fourteen years after the original Super Mario Bros.
The game received critical acclaim for a number of reasons. It brings back the original Super Mario Bros for a younger generation to experience. The introduction of a handheld allowed players to enjoy Super Mario Bros wherever they went. This game also paved the way for the Super Mario Advance Series of remakes, and Super Mario Advance featured a Yoshi Egg Collecting mode. It is the first Virtual Console game not to be released in North America.
