Something Missing?

Goldwyn Pictures Corporation was an American motion picture production company that operated from 1916 to 1924 when it was merged with two other production companies to form the major studio, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

This company was founded by Samuel Goldfish along with Edgar and Archibald Selwyn. The company monicker was an amalgamation of both last names. Goldfish later changed his name legally to Samuel Goldwyn. This was the company that first introduced Slats the Lion as its logo. Their first lion mascot was not Slats, though many people think he is.
