Anthony "Anton" Furst was an English production designer who won an Academy Award for Art Direction for overseeing the design of Gotham City in Tim Burton's Batman 1989 Film. He is often credited with having designed the Batmobile as well but in actuality it was created by Julian Caldow.
Anton Furst died by suicide in 1991 at the age of 47.
