ATMA is a brand of toy electric trains and plastic products. The company was founded in 1948 and started operating factories in Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, and Uruguay. It mainly produces household goods, but several plastic model vehicles have been made in the past. Besides model trains and plastic model kits originally issued by Merit and Monogram, the Brazilian branch, located in São Paulo, released detailed 1:24 scale plastic models of contemporary DKW cars in the 1960s under the name of ATMA Paulista. In Uruguay, ATMA manufactured a bus model, which could be used as a coin bank, as a promotional item for Banco Transatlántico del Uruguay in the 1950s.
