Founded in 1927 Paris, CIJ, short for Compagnie Industrielle du Jouet, started out by making tin toys. Among them were Citroen models ranging in size from 1/8 to 1/15. CIJ switched to manufacturing Renaults in 1935, eventually offering smaller sizes. The company ceased operations in 1965, but saw a comeback in 2007 when Norev produced a collection of re-editions of CIJ models of Renaults from the 1950s and 60s.
