Rextoys

Brand

Something Missing?

Founded in 1987 or 89 by Count Giansanto Coluzzi of Switzerland.  He also owned the Swiss model railway manufacturer Fulgurex, Rextoys designed 1/43 scale diecast model cars, beginning with a 1930s Cadillac V16. Next up was the Chrysler Airflow. Production took place in Portugal at Vitesse, before moving its operation to France for the rest of their models.

The count handed over management of Rextoys to Jean Claude Fournet; he switched the manufacturer to CEF who made Replex brand models in Vagney, France. The new light grey base now used by Rextoys was very similar to Replex. Their first release was the Rolls-Royce Phantom IV.  (Mike Pigott, Diecast Collector, 2022)

The company released its last models, the Packard, in 2001, three years before closing its doors. Many of the proposed models shown in their last catalogs were never issued.
