Founded in 1848 by John Cassell, Cassell & Co was established in a playhouse from Elizabethan times, and though Cassell found quickly found prosperity he quickly fell, too, declaring bankruptcy in 1855. In it's lengthy history, Cassell bounced around owners and publishing groups. Currently, Cassell & Co is an imprint of Octopus Publishing Group.
