On the day Russians invaded his hometown, he, his brother, Matt Eckert, and their friends had to leave the town and hide in the mountains. Later, they and their friends together formed a guerrilla warfare resistance team, called the Wolverines, named after their high school's football team, to defend their families, their town, and their country, the United States of America.
