Accompanying the successful launch of the Mercury in 1939, the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company produced the first Mercury promotional model. In the form of a 5” rubber 4-door sedan, its distribution was limited to people who attended the 1939 Golden Gate Exposition in San Francisco.
