Jo Siffert after winning the 1968 British Grand Prix in the Rob Walker Racing Lotus Ford 49/R7.
Jo Siffert debuted the brand new Rob Walker Lotus 49B, chassis 49B/R7, in spectacular manner by winning the British Grand Prix in the car's maiden race! This happened on the Brands Hatch circuit in July 1968. To date, this stands as the final Grand Prix ever to be won by an independent team. Siffert continued to campaign the beautiful blue and white Lotus for the rest of the 1968 season through 1969, and part of 1970. Brian Redman and Graham Hill also drove the car in 1970.
Our replica, item #GPC97009, is an accurate reproduction of this car in the livery of its historic victory at the British Grand Prix. The last Grand Prix ever won by a private team.
