Back in the '80s, there were plenty of reasons to stay home. You could get glued to MTV watching those rad veejays, or be lost for hours playing Caveman Olympics on your brand-new IBM PC. But you didn't, because it was soooo much cooler to hit the road in your totally awesome El Camino. Now you can relive those glory days with the HWC Series Eight Real Riders 1980 Chevy El Camino!
Meaning "the road" in Spanish, the El Camino experienced its fifth – and last – generation starting in 1978 and continuing through 1987. Today, it's a favorite for restoration, and you can still find the El Camino in racing venues (drift team Bubba Drift uses a 1986 El Camino) . Designed by Jun Imai, the HWC version of the El Camino was first released in 2008 in the Modern Classics line. For 2009 HWC gave it a Spectraflame smoke finish, gray and red stripe tampo, and black ghost flames and Real Riders five-spoke wheels with red stripes.
