On April 18,1775 Paul Revere was sent by Dr. Joseph Warren and instructed to ride to Lexington Massachusetts, to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that British troops were marching to arrest them.A pre-arranged signal, lanterns in the bell-tower of Christ Church in Boston, notified the "Sons of Liberty" which route the British would take.Revere borrowed a horse from Deacon John Larkin and road to Lexington. After delivering his message he meet up with William Dawes, who was on the same mission coming from a different direction, and Dr. Samuel Prescott and continued on to Concord where weapons were hidden.
