Part of the 50th Anniversary Rita Retirement Series, celebrating the retirement of Rita Gilligan MBE, original Hard Rock Cafe waitress and longtime brand ambassador, after 50 years of service. The Hard Rock Cafe brand was founded in London in 1971, with Rita on the opening staff. Each pin in the series features Rita with her trademark red hair and white uniform, posing in front of a local scene and wearing or holding one or more locally themed accessories.

On pocket of uniform, in red capital letters, is the abbreviation "MBE." In 1998, Rita was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), in recognition for her contributions to tourism in the United Kingdom.
