Afrikakorps

In February 1941, Lieutenant Joachim von Richter and his men arrived in Africa. This tank commander was taking up arms on a new front in North Africa. The heat and sand were as formidable as the British troops stationed there. A tough battle awaited the crew of the 522 tank, but the orders were clear: Tobruk must be captured!

The Afrika Korps (Deutsches Afrika Korps, DAK) was the German expeditionary force in North Africa during World War II. It was initially mobilized as a support force to bolster the Italian defense of its African colonies. After training, they continued to fight in Africa under various names, under the command of the iconic Marshal Erwin Rommel, from March 1941 until their surrender in May 1943.

In februari 1941 arriveert luitenant Joachim von Richter met zijn mannen in Afrika. Deze panzercommandant trekt te strijde op een nieuw front in Noord-Afrika. De hitte en het zand zijn er even geducht als de Engelse troepen die er gestationeerd zijn. Er wacht de bemanning van de 522-tank een zware strijd, maar de orders zijn duidelijk, Tobroek moet worden ingenomen!

Het Afrikakorps (Deutsches Afrikakorps, DAK) was tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog het expeditieleger van de Duitsers in Noord-Afrika.
