This song was written by the Glimmer Twins solely for the sake of money. It was given to Marianne Faithfull, then Mick's girlfriend, in 1964 and she took it to #9 in the UK. Thus the Rolling Stones recorded it and released it on December 18, 1965 and took it to #6 in the US. "Gotta Get Away" is the flipside. They are both from the album, "December's Children (and Everybody's)" released two weeks prior to the single. The first time the song was played live was in November of 2005, during the "A Bigger Bang" tour. The song appears in the Martin Scorsese film, "Shine A Light." In July of 2005, Italy finally got a performance of the tune in Italian and was performed as a duet with Taylor Swift on the 50 and Counting tour.
