Büssing D2U/Orenstein & Koppel, 1951 (1963 Configuration)

Bussing D2U / D 2 U / O&K

Model by DeAgostini.

Büssing's D2U chassis paired with Orenstein & Koppel's bodywork was a match made in heaven. Together they became a world famous Berlin icon in the shape of these doubledecker city buses, launched back in 1951 and almost 1000 of them were delivered to the city between '51 and '64. For many years, the rear platforms were open, but in 1963 the buses recieved rear doors to prevent accidents. This model depicts a bus in that late configuration with doors.
