Citroën B14 "Normande" 1932

It is in October 1926, at the show of the car that Citroën presents an entirely new car, the B.14. The chassis is lighter and cushioned at the front and rear on elliptical springs. Braking is done on all four wheels by drums, the steering is smoother and the tank has a capacity of 30 liters. On the aesthetic level, an effort of particular elegance is made, the cars are offered in two or three harmoniously arranged colors, the colors of the wheels are matched and adorned with net. It can be considered that it is thanks to B.14, that Citroën takes on a modern industrial dimension with 35,000 employees, 4 factories, 11 subsidiaries worldwide and 500 agents.

In March 1927, the B14 became the B14F with Westinghouse servo-assisted brakes. The top speed reaches 80 kilometers per hour. The range of body is extended since the catalog of the time proposes:

  • The sedan (4 doors, 6 mirrors and aft trunk) in series, semi-luxury and luxury,
  • The sedan (4 doors, 4 mirrors and aft trunk) in series and semi-luxury,
  • The family (4 doors, 6 mirrors and aft trunk) in luxury
  • The coach (2 doors, 4 seats) in series and luxury
  • The cabriolet (2 doors, 2, 3 or 4 seats) in hood or non-convertible (or fake convertible)
  • The city coupe
  • The taxi sedan, landaulet and sedan landaulet
  • The Norman (open utility).
