Larisa's editor Viktor mentions three editors who had "the guts to publish" and are now dead: Paul Khlebnikov, of the Russian Forbes, died of gunshot wounds 9 July 2004; Valery Ivanov, of the Tolyatti Observer, shot dead 29 April 2002; and Alexei Sidorov, Ivanov's successor, stabbed to death 9 October 2003.
