The unmasked Vader was originally released exclusively at Star Wars Celebration. It was later re-released in a blue box as a common figure.
However, the original expo release features three distinct identifiers that the re-released commons do not: a specific POP footstamp, blue box (jjl), and an authentic event sticker.
These 3 elements is what makes it challenging to find a truly authentic, first-to-market version - as they all need to match in order for it to be the original expo released pop.
The footstamp, box, and sticker shown in the photos were verified by three individuals personally interviewed by K. Emswiler—each of whom attended the original expo and still owns the version they received there.

Genuine stickers are semi-translucent and the printing can be seen from the back. If the sticker is solid white on the back, it's a fake.
