The Dodge Polara was built from 1965 to 1973. It started as a full-sized model, after two years, it was down-sized to an intermediate/mid-sized vehicle. In 1973, it was replaced by the Dodge Monaco. When it was downsized, it dropped from the top of the line model to the second place vehicle. First place became the Custom 880. The Polara was supposed to be Dodge's competition for the FORD Galaxie/LTD.
