Freddie for a Week Guitar Pick (Clone)

Charity guitar pick clone featuring Freddie Mercury (1946-1991), lead singer of the rock band Queen, who died of complications of AIDS.

Pin promotes the Freddie for a Week initiative, an HIV and AIDS fundraising campagne that encourages people to dress up as Mercury during the week of his birthday, September 5th. Hard Rock hosted Freddie Events in 2019 at many of the locations worldwide.

Mercury is shown in one of his famous poses, looking downward, his right fist high above his head. From his final tour with Queen in 1986, he is wearing the now iconic yellow jacket, white tank tops and white trousers with red and yellow vertical stripes. In his left hand ia a black microphone. The background is light blue stripes which resembles a stage curtain.

The Hard Rock Cafe logo is at the bottom center of the guitar pick. The brand name is in white letters over a silver circle with a white border. The location name, Atlantic City, is located just beneath the logo in light gray letters outlined in silver.

Back of the pin states that this is a Limited Edition pin but gives no quantity.

Sold on a yellow backing card with embossed yellow lettering. The back of the card says that 10% of sales will go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, founded by Queen and its manager to fight the battle against HIV and AIDS.
