Standing up to the Grendels is probably the most dangerous thing anybody can do, but when a mother is protecting her son, there is no danger too great. Young Albert is hell-bent on joining the ranks of the local klan and becoming a racer. The only thing that stands in his way is his mother, Dana. She's willing to pay any price to keep Albert from becoming a Grendel, though not even she expected that falling in love with Hack, the Grendel Chief, would be part of the bargain.
