Presumably mocked up when AcceleRacers was still undergoing development in 2004. Much of the deco on the final copy was finalized at this point already, though like the mainline die-cast version, this sample did not have a black hood, and all the chrome parts were left chromed and unpainted (painted satin silver on final 2005 New York Toy Fair version)
