Three quarters of The Rolling stones are on this record with Keith Richards and Mick Taylor sitting this one out. Mick, Charlie, and Bill are joined by Ry Cooder and Nicky Hopkins. The Rolling Stones were actually in the studio to do a session for a new album but Keith got a phone call from his then girlfriend and fellow heroin addict, Anita Palenberg. Keith never came back and since the studio was already paid for the five musicians jammed and created, "Jamming with Edward." Who is Edward you might ask. It is a nickname for Nicky Hopkins.
