Corgi Toys released this casting in 1959 (#409) in light blue with a red grille. That toy had no suspension, interior or cargo bed cover. The 1965 (#470) casting was available in medium blue, avocado and mustard with red or lemon interiors, suspension and a grey cover.
The casting is quite different to all other Corgi Toys of that era. Late editions are known with cast, spoke effect wheels.
This is a later version of GS14 with suspension and an interior added, with no lamp post or worker now.
Jeep Forward Control (cab over engine) trucks were sold in the US from 1956–1965. The design was licensed to other countries and continued to be produced until at least 1999.
