Lions Gate Bridge

Landmark design of the Lions Gate Bridge, which opened in 1938 and is a designated National Historic Site of Canada. It is a three reversible lane suspension bridge that crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet and connects Vancouver to the North Shore. *********Lions Gate****** refers to a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver as well as a pair of large concrete lions, designed by sculptor Charles Marega that stand on either side of the south approach of the bridge. On the left of the pin is a close-up of a dual grey lion and on the right stands the dark green suspension bridge with 3 black traffic lanes as well as the other concrete grey lion (not discernible). In the background is the North Shore forested mountain with a blue sky and a white cloud. The Hard Rock Casino purple logo with *********Vancouver****** in silver sits at the feet of the lion.
