The Klingon Lursa was the older of the sisters of Duras, of the house of the same name. Lursa sought to support the claim of Duras' illegitimate son Toral for the Chancellorship of the Klingon High Council. When the claim was rejected by Arbiter of Succession Jean-Luc Picard, the sisters of Duras rallied support and started a Klingon Civil War.
