Monteverdi 375L (Fissore)

The Monteverdi 375L was a four-seater sports coupe built by Monteverdi from 1969 to 1976 and part of the Monteverdi High Speed range. The car had a 7,206 cc Chrysler V-8 engine. Contemporary rivals included the British Jensen Interceptor, which was also powered by a Chrysler V8.

While the first cars of the High Speed range - twelve 375S two-seater coupes and one prototype of a 375L four-seater coupe - were designed and built by Frua, body assembly was soon moved to Fissore, another Italian coachbuilder, where production of a redesigned 375L four-seater coupe started in 1969. This version became the most popular car of the range; at least several dozens were built, possibly a low three-digit number.  Besides the 375L, Fissore also produced a new 375S with shorter chassis, as well as convertible versions (375C and Palm Beach) and a luxury sedan (375/4), but  production numbers of these versions were very limited (six 375S with Fissore body, three convertibles, between 13 and 28 sedans).

The chassis of the cars were always built at the Monteverdi factory in Binningen near Basel, and then transported to Italy for the final assembly.
