The Monteverdi 375S was a two-seater sports coupe built by Monteverdi from 1967 to 1968 and the first model of the Monteverdi High Speed range. The car had a 7,206 cc Chrysler V-8 engine. Contemporary rivals included the British Jensen Interceptor, which was also powered by a Chrysler V8.
The body of the 375S was designed and built by the Italian design house Frua, and reminded of the contemporary Maserati Ghibli. A prototype of a four-seater coupe (375L) designed by Frua was presented in 1968, but did not enter production. After twelve two-seater coupes had been produced by Frua, assembly was moved to Fissore, another Italian coachbuilder, where redesigned versions of 375S and 375L, as well as convertible versions (375C and Palm Beach) and luxury sedan (375/4) were produced from 1969 to 1976.
The chassis of the cars were always built at the Monteverdi factory in Binningen near Basel, and then transported to Italy for the final assembly.
