Ensign Ogawa was assigned to the medical staff of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under Dr. Crusher. She also contributed to the diagnosis of the DNA-invasive Tarchannen III strand within Geordi La Forge. Ogawa was later promoted to lieutenant, junior grade and married Lieutenant Andrew Powell. While pregnant, her amniotic fluid was used to reverse the effects of Barclay's protomorphosis syndrome.
