The first Kadett (sometimes refered to as Kadett I) was presented in 1936, production began in 1937, but the 4-door version didn't follow until 1938.
2 different equipment versions were available: the very spartan "Standard" with no bumpers, hubcaps, or chrome, and the much more luxurious "Spezial", modeled here.
