As Lorraine spirals into an abyss of depression and despair in the wake of his wife's death, his young daughter Isabelle is sent to the estate of a distant relative, a secretive baron in the Austrian alps. A black husky is her only friend and companion as Isabelle discovers that little about the baron is as it appears.
