The "Rock 'n' Roll Circus" was recorded and filmed in two days during December 1968. It took 28 years for it to release. It was expected as a special during the Beggar's Banquet release, but after viewing it the Stones were not happy with their performance and scrapped the release. Appearing as the Ringmaster, Mick Jagger held court over such acts as: The Who, Taj Mahal, Jethro Tull, Marianne Faithful, Yoko Ono and The Dirty Mac (a band composed of John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchell).
