Superior Ambulance on Cadillac Chassis

Cadillac Superior Ambulance
4 Variants

This is an online exclusive model, NOT a monthly membership model.

This special edition of Corgi 437 marries the model’s red and cream livery (first issued in October 1962) with the circuitry of the later variant in pale blue and cream (originally issued by Corgi in June 1966).

Both variants feature Corgi’s patented ‘Trans-O-Lite’ lighting system whereby the roof-mounted bulb illuminates the model’s front and rear roof lights. Although the ‘Trans-O-Lite’ system is replicated on both Club models, because the early version’s mechanism was notoriously erratic and prone to failure, we sensibly chose not to emulate it. Instead, we have retained the battery operated system from the later version – which, if you recall, we had to modify very slightly to comply with current regulations.

This new Club shop model also includes Corgi's famed ‘Glidamatic’ suspension – and like the original has a different set of decals to the pale blue variant.
