This model was based on the earlier 228 Volvo P1800. It was Corgi’s first character toy and represented the car driven by Roger Moore as Simon Templar (alias The Saint) in the TV series of the same name. The model was extremely successful and featured jewel headlamps, a figure of Templar behind the wheel and a Saint logo transfer on the hood. It enjoyed a long production run in this form before being converted to WhizzWheels and renumbered 201.
