Toyota AC

The Model AC doesn't have much to distinguish it.  It wasn't Toyota's first car, and no great advancements were made in technology.  It differs from the AA in having a windshield split in the center.  That was the current automotive fashion, allowing a more aerodynamic look by angling the two flat panes toward the side. The engine was an advancement of the Chevrolet-based AA, and built under license.

Forty-three cars were built in the first year of production (1943), nearly 40% of the total.  A further nineteen constructed in early 1944.  I presume that all of these cars were for use by the miltary and high ranging officials as the country had been at war since 1939.  No more cars were made until 1947 when fifty more were assembeled from spares.  The final three came in 1948.

The 1934 Chrysler Airflow was the first car to have a one piece curved windshield, and the AA/AB/AC took many of their styling cues from that car.  But the rest of the automotive world remained flat until after the war.
