"UNUSUAL SUSPECTS"
The Limited Edition Cel entitled Unusual Suspects reminds us why any law-abiding citizen would be hard-pressed to finger one of these Gotham City femme fatales as the most alluring figure featured in "Batman: The Animated Series". Poised with looks that would stop reputable do-gooders as well as cold-blooded killers dead in their tracks, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Talia hardly look innocent, but then again, who cares if they're innocent or not? If being a knock-out were a crime, all of these temptresses would be guilty as charged.
This Limited Edition Cel began with a concept by Paul Dini under the art direction of Bruce Timm. David McBride painted the original background using a layout by George Stokes. The character illustration by Shane Glines was used by Patricia Martinez to create the master inking which was then silk-screened with the Warner Bros. Seal onto an acetate sheet (or "cel"). Each cel was ink-enhanced by hand before being hand-painted on the reverse side. The background was reproduced on acid-free paper using a lithography process. Each Unusual Suspects bears the signatures of Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, producers of "Batman:
The Animated Series". The edition number was hand-inked on each cel in a special edition size of only, 500 pieces. Upon completion of the edition, the original artwork was archived.
Fifty Artist Proofs were also produced numbered API through AP50.
Twenty Hors de Commerce were also produced numbered HC1 through HC20
