Viking Door

This pin incorporates a Viking in the centre of a gateway. On either side, and at the top of the gateway, is a triquetra. This symbol has been found on rune stones in Northern Europe and on early Germanic coins. It presumably had pagan religious meaning and it bears a resemblance to the valknut, a symbol associated with Odin. There are also patterns on either side of the Viking which appear to be Celtic, but could be interpreted as those found in Nordic tradition.
