This model shares baseplates with ref# 1000, which is the Kombi/Steilheck/Station Wagon version. It was made for Volkswagen as dealership models (in white boxes), but some (like this) were also sold by Schabak themselves.
The car itself is sometimes mistakenly refered to as a series III, but is essentially a extensively facelifted series II, which is indicated by the "2F" in the type name.
