Volvo L495 Titan Wrecker "Falck", 1959

2 Variants

Vilmer made several different versions of this tow truck/wrecker: with or without opening doors, neutral livery, Falck and/or Falck-Zonen livery (some had 'Falck' on the doors and 'Falck-Zonen' on the bed)

Falck aquired ownership of their main competitor Zonen in january 1963, so this version with both Falck and Falck-Zonen markings must be from around that period.

The original Titan, L395, was launched in 1950. It was followed by the L495 in 1959 and in 1965 the new N88 took over - visually there was minimal difference between them. Vilmer never officially named the truck they based their model on, but knowing how they always strived to be up-to-date, it is rather safe to assume, that a 1963-64 model would be described as a L495 Titan.

The model is quite complex with an advanced underside (with intricate suspension), a movable (loose) crane boom just behind the cab, a fully working 'grille' at the rear, and on some models the doors opened. The headlights are clear plastic lenses, while the grille is made of black, semi-pliable plastic.

All versions are getting very hard to find in anywhere near reasonable condition.
