This pin pays tribute to Leppalúði, the husband of Grila. Leppaludi is a troll. Wearing a gray sleevless tunic overtop of a yellow shirt and brown pants. He also has a rope belt. He is barefoot and standing on a dirt path with rocks. Centered over his legs is the classic HRC yellow logo with a white ring around it. Written within the white ring in black font is " Leppalúði" at the top and city name on the bottom.
There isn't much to the legend of Leppaludi. He is the third husband of Grila. Periodically he will hunt bad children with his wife and cook them in a stew but is mostly fabled to be lazy, rarely leaving their cave in the mountains. Although he may just have his hands full as he is the dad to around 80 children (some are his stepkids), the most famous being the Yule Lads, which he fathered with Grila. They also have a black cat, aka Jolakotturinn.
There are 2 versions of this pin. The white ringed logo was sold individually. The black ringed logo was sold as part of a 16 pin Christmas folklore set, Ref# 100435 / HDBID# 483961.
