This appears in April 1969, replacing the short-lived 156 Maserati which had been issued just two years earlier. It is the first of two models to feature a clever and accurate steering system whereby when you shift the driver from side to side the steering turns from left to right. This model is always in yellow and white with racing number 3 on the sides and bonnet. This one has the RN3s missing from the sides. It has the wide, branded and flat profile tyres and 8-spoke cast wheels. This example is in good condition with just some chips to the nose area. The chrome is all there but a little faded in places. the spoiler can be adjusted too. All original.

About this Collectible

Item Condition:
Excellent
Packaging Condition:
None
Condition Notes:

I had no idea that these had steering until I started looking more closely at the Corgi catalogues! It is a great system and works really well - all credit to whoever thought of that.

It was just a bit late in the day. It’s July 1969 and change is looming. These are the last good years. The aerofoil also adjusts and there is a semblance of suspension too.

This example is clean and has no missing paint. Looks good, it’s just the colour that doesn’t do it justice.

This is quite scarce being not around for as long as 158 and the delicate parts can easily get damaged.
